Seventeen people attended the STAR Interfaith Leadership Training Conference held in historic Harpers Ferry West Virginia between November 24th, 2017 and November 26th, 2017.

Dr. Chanda Adkins of West Virginians for Health Freedom spoke on Vaccine Choice for West Virginians by Zoom video conference on the 24th.  West Virginia is one of only three states that mandate vaccinations for school entrance without any exemptions for religious or conscientious reasons.  Our local state senator, Patricia Rucker, introduced a bill to overturn that in January, 2017, but it never got out of committee.  Urban Life Training will assist in helping to pass a bill overturning this mandate in 2018.  West Virginians for Health Freedom is sponsoring Health Freedom Day at the state capitol in Charleston on January 15, 2018.  Urban Life Training will be a vendor and we will lobby for restoring health freedom to West Virginians.

STAR Interfaith Leadership training combines practical understanding about the benefits of sexual abstinence before marriage with a Christian understanding of the Biblical model and mandate to refrain from sexual relationships before marriage and to maintain fidelity within marriage.  The conference combined Relationship Intelligence abstinence-centered materials with sermon clips by Pastor Hyung Jin Moon, plus reading and discussion of The Family Rooted in Abstolute Sexual Ethics Which is the Model for God’s Absoluteness, Peace and Ideal and the Global Kingdom. The materials are presented as a highly accessible ten session course of study.  There is also an optional eleventh session for older teens and young adults about marriage preparation.

All the materials are available at our web portal; teacher.urbanlifetraining.org by subscription ($25 per quarter individual, or $75 per quarter for school or organization). These materials comprise the STAR (Students Teaching Abstinence & Responsibility) ten part course.  Families and institutions can help youth and young adults successfully face the most crucial issue of their entire lives; successful relationships with the opposite sex leading to successful family formation.
